I would also like to thank you for giving me the
opportunity to say a few word about flood in my beloved city, Semarang
flood? Ladies and gentlemen, have you
ever caught in a flood?
how do you feel when you caught in a flood? well flooding is a
natural disaster caused by heavy rains andoverflowing rivers.Flood
is nightmare for our life. Why? Because It comes
to us anytime, morning, afternoon and even sometimes in the middle of the night in the rainy season especially in our beloved city, Semarang. By the way ladies and gentlemen Have you ever heard this song?, ” semarang kaline banjir, jo sumelang rak di pikir…. “ Well, what do you think the purpose of writing
this song? It is an imaginary or a fact? I believe the written is trying to
tell the facts,
facts
that are always found during rainy season in Semarang.
Ladies and
gantlementactually there are some reasons why we are citizen of Semarang always
caught in floods.
You know,some riversin Semarang are not clean? You want a
proof? can we see our
own reflection in the river water ? No? you know, almost all rivers in Semarang is shallow, and
narrowed, because of the trash, and especially because of the
existing residential area in belt of the
river. of course it causes flooding, foundation of many illegal houses along
the rivers that overlook the mouth of the river, people activities living along
the rivers often throw garbage into the rivers, as what people do along in the
banjir kanal timur.
Second,
two weeks ago I read on the www.suaramerdeka.com,editionof Tuesday
, June,18 2013 at 17:17, it was written that semarang had
not been free from flooding yet, the lack
of green belt, no forest city, are some reasons for flooding . we know that
many green land in Semarang have been reduces.
For real estate, hilly area that is supposed to be houses for
plants is now a
place for human. If all humans occupy the land
for plants, then where are
all living plants suppose to live?
Well, ladies and gentlemen. The question is why we
should do something to overcome floods
one reason is, flooding can cause viruses and bacteria. How could it be? Flood that inundated residential areas is largely due to a clogged sewer, garbage covered. Indeed, awareness of people to those things are very low. We know from those thing the flood water mixed with waste that can cause health problems such as: skin diseases, this is because the flood water mixed with a variety of bacteria and germs. so that the water is causing the itching. Not only skin diseases, but also diarrhea,this is due to lack ofclean water supplies used for eating and drinking. Even the victims of floods use flood water for cooking and drinking.

rivers.
besides, I can give an advice to all of us, for ordinary people or government that we should immediately increase the absorption field and green parks. Not only that, but we also have to know when to cut down a tree, then we also have to plan a tree. Making roads also need to be considered, should be used paving system that rain water can still be absorbed into the ground. Stop making new roads, make regulation to handle transportation. With make regulation to handle transportation, we can stop making new roads, with stop making new roads, we can save many plants.
and the last recommendations is we are all citizens of the city of Semarang must begin to open our awareness by participating to perform community service and environmental cleaning gutters regularly as government programs. You know, there are Jumat bersih, Sabtu hijau, Minggu sehat, The question is have you ever joint in that program? But, actually If we can do every day I mean we do Jumat bersih, Sabtu hijau, Minggu sehat everyday, actually we can ty do it at start from our house. So, No flood no viruses, no flood no bacteria, and no flood no bacteria, no viruses means welcome to clean city of Semarang.
